Exhibited:
The Love of a Lifetime, My Mantra

On participating in Vagina Festival 2007:
I was drawn to the festival due to its positive awareness. I am
someone who feels compelled to partake in things that are conscious, thought provoking and empowering. I honor what the festival provides: space to appreciate peoples stories. It shows how interconnected and similar our lives are, that's important to us all.

About Lucia Flores:
Among all the loves of our lives, is the sometimes forgotten the love of a lifetime. Its forgotten because its sometimes bombarded to have it subdued. In this presentation I chose to express self esteem and love written all over my face and body. Self esteem and love, is a beautiful word but even more so, it is a beautiful spirit to keep forever within your soul. I feel self love, is the love of an entire lifetime. Raised awareness of your every breath, acceptance of yourself as you are, sinks deeply and formulates every fiber of the spirit into a vessel that's filled with Joy. You can not love anyone on earth unless you love yourself first, how can you know what love is unless you have found it in you.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN >
At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime — with the abuser usually someone known to her. Violence against women and girls is a universal problem of epidemic proportions.

reclaiming peace

V-Day's 2007 theme Reclaiming Peace seeks to make the connection between the worldwide anti-violence work of V-Day activists with our collective desire for peace and an end to armed conflicts. “We are saying that if a government supports the use of force, weapons, violence as a method of control and dominance, this models and gives license to the same kind of behavior at home,” stated V-Day Founder/Artistic Director Eve Ensler.
