Jenny Laden Visual Artist Exhibiting: Wondermama Medium: painting on watercolor paper Dimensions: 20 x 15" On participating in Vagina Festival 2008: On participating in Vagina Festival: the piece comes from a series about wonder woman as a mom. I have been focused on making images of women which display both strenth and vulnerability. In my own experience of motherhood, I have felt the greatest power and the greatest tenderness simultaneously. I find this image reflects that. Artist Statement: My work revolves around images of women and the inner worlds reflected in their expression and surroundings. Ultilizing cartoon imagery, traditional portraiture and landscape painting, My work seeks to create female imagery imbued with beauty, strength and complexity. I am working on an exhibition entitled "Motherland" which opens in January (Heskin Contemporary, NYC). I live and work in Brooklyn, NY.
