Presenting:
"I Wanna Be Famous" -- dirty folk rock performance

On participating in Vagina Festival 2008:
My performance is all about and celebrates the vagina -- and other things that scare people! Expect a ribald but intelligent set of jokes, songs and music videos, some of which have been circulated world-wide. I play the guitar, the flying V ukelele and the rape whistle, as well as other quirky instruments. Some of my material has been referred to as "dark" and "edgy" but there's something in it for almost every audience -- I've even performed my act at some children's shows! I've traveled with the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players who have a young teenager in their band (and the audiences are regularly packed with parents and their kids) and I've also performed in the NY International Children's Festival.

Some of the things I like to address in my performance are the fact that words are just words. I like to use humor to address serious issues. I also like to encourage the fact that we're entitled to have freedom of speech in our country and I am trying to do my part to keep my freedom of speech alive! If we don't use the privileges we are given, it will be easier to have them taken away, right under our noses.

I also want to encourage young people to be creative and address political topics with art and music. You can find out more about my music, my life and what I do by visiting www.loudmouthrecords.com, who put out my latest CD entitled, "I Wanna Be Famous", or by googling me to see what comes up!

About Jessica Delfino:
Jessica Delfino is a ribald musician who uses comedy, video and illustration in her performance. She loves to write songs about vaginas and other things that scare people, which makes people like the Catholics very angry -- The Catholic League denounced her music and comedy! Her videos are featured on Youtube, Myspace and Atomfilms (Comedy Central) and in Morgan Spurlock's documentary (producer of Super Size Me, 30 Days), "What Would Jesus Buy?" Her act is fun for the whole family -- except for the kids. Jessica is very excited to share her music and comedy in the Vagina Festival!
