JoiLynn Dance Presenting: Corset On participating in Vagina Festival 2008: Corset Is a work in progress performance that uses Hip Hop and modern dance to explore the emotional experience of the strong woman and the sublime nature of the feminine spirit. The piece invokes thought about the power of the feminine spirit, the nature of female energy and the meaning of the godess. About JoiLynn Productions: JoiLynn's work encompasses her natural style to incorporate elements of ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, ethnic dance, and just pure inspired expression through movement. Her inspiration is sparked by all types of music from Punk Rock, to Classical to Hip Hop. She hopes to communicate her interpretations of consciousness and healing through a new age, grassroots derived frame that incorporates various artistic mediums and is appropriate for all types of venues both traditional and mainstream. Although the bulk of her work fuses hip hop and modern movements, her diversity in training allows her to cross all borders to create, whether it be for a concert or a classical stage setting, and adds a unique flair to her creations. Not only is her goal to celebrate the technique of different forms of dance and present it to the mainstream world, but she hopes to bring the dynamics of fresh choreography and positive, but uniquely vibrant, entertainment by expressing the ideas of a newer generation of dancers and of dance itself.
