Karen Zechowy
Slick Rick
Role: Narrator

On participating in Vagina Festival 2008:
Back in the day, I used to be ashamed of my vagina. I was insecure about the way it looked, the way it smelled, and the way it tasted. Through a series of fabulously sexually-freeing jobs such as being a writer for Playgirl, a nude art model, and a dominatrix, I have learned to embrace my femininity, body and soul. So no longer do I say 'no' when a partner offers cunnilingus. In fact, now I specially request it. I hate to think that there are still women out there who do not love themselves and their vaginas. I would like to play whatever part I can in ensuring that every woman on earth and their vaginas are as happy as can be.
About Karen Zechowy:
As well as acting, I also model, edit, write, and train dogs. I am a certified Canine Behavior Counselor who specializes in obedience instruction with dogs who have problems with aggression, anxiety, OCD, etc. The love of my life, my dog Lucky, is a Chow Chow/Border Collie mix a.k.a. a Borderline Chollie Cow. He is also an accomplished actor who played a tranny-prostitute on the Comedy Central show TV Funhouse. I'm a bit of a movie junkie. I go to see everything from blockbusters and art flicks to sing-a-longs. Though I own an extensive collection of films and belong to Netflix I still go to the Library of Performing Arts once a week to grab some rare goodies. When I'm not glued in front of a screen I like to take advantage of everything the city has to offer particularly the incomparable food, art, and theater. My dream is to merge my writing with my acting to develop a one-woman show. I have been taking Memoir classes at Gotham to focus on which of my life's anecdotes should be included and how to weave them together to form a cohesive story line. So please keep an eye out for the soon to completed "Why I Hate My Family, Love Dogs, Date Men, and Fuck Women".
