U-Meleni Mhlaba
Spokenword/Song

Presenting:
"Soul Psalms"
On participating in Vagina Festival 2008:
I wish to perform 4 pieces of poetry that explore reclaiming our
bodies and our sexuality after being abused mentally, physically and
spiritually. It's about acceptance in all the multiple layers that we
call "womanhood". It's about exploration of a cross cultural identity,
the dance between being an African in America. It's questioning
notions of body image, love, sisterhood and sacrifice.
